Big 5 Construct Saudi 2026 opened in Riyadh on Sunday under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, drawing more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 50 countries to the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center for four days. The organiser expects more than 35,000 trade visitors before the show closes on 2 September.
The edition is the larger of the two Big 5 Construct Saudi shows staged in the Kingdom this year, and it is positioned around the earlier stages of the construction cycle. Where the January and May editions leaned toward fit-out and finishing, this week's halls are given over to heavy construction, concrete, building systems and HVACR, with facilities management and cleaning covering the operating end. Four co-located shows carry those segments: Heavy Saudi Arabia, Totally Concrete Saudi Arabia, HVACR Saudi Arabia and Saudi FM & Clean.
The exhibitor line-up is a mix of Saudi manufacturers, regional groups and international suppliers, and the organiser has highlighted several of them. Masdar is showing Kronospan carbon-negative wood-based panels and engineered boards. Galaxy Technology is presenting Albion Valves with carbon transparency across its cast-iron range. Star Factory is exhibiting a spray polyurethane foam roofing and waterproofing system, Keller is showing ground improvement and foundation solutions, and Al-Futtaim Engineering is presenting integrated facilities management and energy management, according to the organiser.
Also among the larger names on the floor are CPC Holding, the fire protection group NAFFCO, and Al Yamamah Steel Industries, alongside Lanmix, Masa, Gibus and Al Muqarram. The organiser lists Arkaz, TotalEnergies, Hamte Group and Mectco among first-time exhibitors at this edition. Arkaz, the Dammam and Jeddah admixtures manufacturer, arrives at its first Big 5 Construct Saudi some five months after Master Builders Solutions completed its acquisition of the business.
Ministry patronage is not decoration. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources sits at the centre of the Kingdom's industrial licensing and localisation machinery, and the sector it oversees has been expanding quickly: 13,660 industrial facilities were active at the end of April 2026, up more than 11 per cent year on year, with 322 new industrial licences issued in April carrying investment above SAR 12.33 billion. A construction supply-chain exhibition held under that patronage is, in part, a shop window for domestic manufacturing capacity.
The demand backdrop is steady rather than uniform. Saudi construction output is forecast to grow 6.2 per cent in 2026 to about SAR 232.14 billion. Contract awards tracked by the Saudi Contractors Authority reached their 2026 high in May at more than SR 30.03 billion across 18 projects, with infrastructure accounting for 10 projects worth over SR 25 billion; June brought the year's highest project count, 25 awards worth more than SR 29.5 billion, with building and construction taking 14 of them and 56 per cent of the value. The National Housing Company led project owners by value in June, ahead of Saudi Aramco.
Against that, several giga-project programmes have been re-phased or re-scoped over the past year, and cost pressure has become a standing item in contractor conversations. The practical consequence for the exhibition floor is that buyers arrive with sharper questions about lifecycle cost, lead times, local stock and after-sales support rather than headline price alone.
A conference programme runs alongside the halls across nine topic areas, including codes and standards, health and safety, sustainability, artificial intelligence, project management, concrete, modular construction and HVACR, with the Saudi Building Code Center, ROSHN Group, Misk City, Saudi Binladin Group and Kabbani Construction Group among the organisations speaking.
