Big 5 Construct Saudi returns to Riyadh at the end of August with more than 1,000 exhibiting companies, making it the largest single gathering of the supply chain that equips Saudi Arabia's construction programme.
The exhibition runs for four days, from 30 August to 2 September, at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center at ROSHN Front, beside King Khalid International Airport. Exhibitors come from more than 50 countries. The organiser expects more than 35,000 trade visitors across the four days, a planning figure rather than a recorded one, but a useful indication of the scale the event is being built around.
The organiser is running the 2026 edition under the theme From foundation to future, built for every scale, which is a fair description of where the exhibition sits in the construction cycle. Its centre of gravity is the early and heavy end of a project: general construction, concrete, heavy equipment, HVACR and facilities management, with four co-located shows carving those out separately as Heavy Saudi Arabia, Totally Concrete Saudi Arabia, HVACR Saudi Arabia and Saudi FM & Clean.
That structure matters more than it sounds. It puts the machines, the mix designs, the cooling plant and the maintenance contractors in the same building as the main contractors and consultants who specify them, which is not how most construction exhibitions in the region are organised.
The event lands in a market that has changed shape considerably in two years. The Saudi Contractors Authority recorded 472 projects worth about SR233.2bn across the Kingdom in 2025, and the monthly series through 2026 has been running at a far lower project count for a comparable value. In June the authority logged 25 awards worth more than SR29.5bn, the busiest month of the year by count, with building and construction taking 56 percent of the value. The average Saudi package has roughly doubled in size since last year.
Fewer, larger contracts change what a supplier has to do to win work. A package worth a billion riyals is procured by a client with a formal prequalification process, an audited local-content requirement and a schedule that leaves little tolerance for a supplier who cannot deliver at volume. Exhibitions become part of that qualification process rather than a marketing exercise, which is why the organiser has framed this edition around project delivery rather than product launches.
The register the exhibition is selling into is enormous and highly fragmented. The Saudi Contractors Authority puts the number of local and foreign contracting companies registered with it at about 140,000, of which 1,648 are foreign firms that have entered the market since the authority was created. Contracting accounts for roughly 8 percent of Saudi gross domestic product. Most of those companies are very small, and the number able to hold a major package runs to dozens rather than thousands, so the visitor profile ranges from a giga-project procurement team to a two-van finishing subcontractor.
The conference programme running alongside the floor covers codes, standards and regulations, health and safety, sustainability, artificial intelligence, technology, project management, concrete, modular construction and HVACR. Sessions are built around the Saudi Building Code, concrete quality, project governance, the application of artificial intelligence in project delivery, and coordination between HVACR design, installation and facilities management.
